Title and Summary

Own the overall account strategy and commercial performance for a strategic acquiring and processing relationship.

Develop a deep understanding of the client’s business model, processing capabilities, technology environment and strategic priorities.

Identify and develop opportunities across Mastercard Core and Services, building a strong pipeline and delivering against revenue objectives.

Position Mastercard as a strategic partner, identifying opportunities to create value for both the processor and the customers it serves.

Develop integrated solutions that bring together Mastercard products, services, technology and expertise around client needs.

Lead complex opportunities from strategy and business case through negotiation, contracting, implementation and revenue realization.

Build trusted relationships with senior client decision-makers and establish connectivity across product, technology, operations and commercial teams.

Mobilize Mastercard teams across Product, Services, Finance, Legal, Franchise, Operations and Technology to execute against shared priorities.

Proactively address barriers to commercialization, bringing ownership, urgency and accountability to opportunities and challenges.

Serve as a player/coach within the broader Acquiring team, contributing expertise and helping advance strategic priorities beyond the account.

Significant experience in payments, acquiring, processing, fintech or financial services.

Strong understanding of the merchant acquiring and payment-processing ecosystem.

Demonstrated success managing a large, complex strategic client relationship and delivering commercial results.

Strong consultative selling, solution-development and negotiation skills.

Ability to understand complex product and technology environments and translate Mastercard capabilities into compelling client solutions.

Strong financial acumen and experience developing business cases and commercial agreements.

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence across a complex organization.

High degree of ownership, curiosity, collaboration and urgency.

Director, Account Management

The Director, Account Management, Acquiring will have responsibility for one of Mastercard’s strategic acquiring and processing relationships. This role combines strategic account leadership, commercial growth and solution development, with a focus on deepening the relationship and expanding Mastercard’s relevance across the client’s processing business.

We are looking for a commercial problem solver, not simply a relationship manager. The successful candidate will understand acquiring and processing, be comfortable with product and technology, and know how to bring together Mastercard capabilities to solve complex client needs and create sustainable growth.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

New York City, New York: $218,000 - $349,000 USD
